In the three years since Karla Mosley revealed that her Bold & Beautiful run as Maya had come to an end, the groundbreaking character has hardly been mentioned. But her portrayer, as attuned as ever to Rick’s former wife, can well imagine what she is doing now.

“In my mind… she started a fashion line,” the actress tells Soap Opera Digest. “She’s a working mom. She’s an international powerhouse. She’s an advocate for trans rights, and I think she would have been responsible for some of those outfits featured on the Beyoncé Renaissance tour.”

Though Mosley has said that she doesn’t want to return to the role of Maya — read why here — she is keen on a daytime comeback. “For a while with the girls, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do something long-term,” says the mother of two. That was why spelling Young & Restless’ Mishael Morgan as Amanda while she was on medical leave was so perfect for Mosley. It also “reminded me that I miss the pace of daytime.

“I have found everyone in the soap community to be good, solid people, and we root for each other,” she adds. “We want to support each other, especially when people are doing such good work… So at this point, yes… it would be lovely to be back on a soap.”
