Jim Pitcock Obituary, Death – We are writing to convey to you our deepest condolences on the loss of our father, James Dean “Jim” Pitcock, who passed away not long ago. On the morning of Sunday, October 8, 2023, just after Dad had recovered from a brief attack of illness, he departed from this world. He has 83 years under his belt.
He started his career in the television news sector at KFSA-TV in Fort Smith when he was still in high school.
KFSA-TV is located in Fort Smith. Later in life, he established himself as a pioneer in the state of Arkansas. In 1963, he moved to Little Rock in order to begin working for KAAY Radio, which was eventually followed by KATV Channel 7, where he finally worked as News Director for more than 30 years. In this position, he was in the position for a total of over 30 years. His late-in-life employment includes working as an assistant for Senator Mark Pryor, who is now the Attorney General of the United States.
He held this position for more than 10 years. As his career progressed, he made such a large number of friends that it would be difficult to count them all.
In the days that he had left, he made it a point to tell every one of his family how much he loved them and how proud he was of them. He will be greatly missed. The closest thing to his heart was his family.
Later on this week, there will be a gathering in Little Rock to commemorate the life of Dad, and a burial service will be performed at his cemetery in Fort Smith.
Both events will take place in Arkansas. When the particulars have been worked out, we will communicate them to you as soon as we can. The medical staff at UAMS and Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Little Rock have demonstrated an unprecedented level of care and respect for the patient’s family over the course of the past several days, and the patient’s family is unable to convey their appreciation for those folks in a manner that would do them justice.
